Harry Hartigan was a young service technician when he founded Hartigan Refrigeration in 1976. An early focus on gasoline vapor recovery refrigeration systems quickly expanded to include process cooling and HVAC as the company grew over the next several years. In 1978, Hartigan Refrigeration was renamed Mechanical Service Corporation to reflect Harry's vision for the company's future as an HVAC service specialist.
Vice President Tim Hartigan joined MSC in 1997 as a service shop helper. He progressed through the ranks as Apprentice, Salesperson, V.P. of Sales, General Manager, Vice President, and Partner to his father, Harry.
Tim was instrumental in cementing Mechanical Service Corporation's status as the Northeast Region's go-to specialist in complex system service and diagnostics before his untimely passing in 2019.
In 2024, Harry Hartigan passed the baton to our new company president, Andrew Heilmann, P.E., who first joined MSC as general manager in 2013. Harry mentored Andrew from an early age when he recognized his young neighbor's natural mechanical aptitude and avid interest in the HVAC trade. Harry has stepped back from his position at the company's helm and continues to play an integral role as an advisor to our service technicians and engineering team.
